Paddock shelters
A paddock shelter in Queensland is a must have in all paddocks that are exposed to our unique weather and elements. From run-in sheds to fully enclosed stables, our horse shelters are designed to meet the specific needs of each client and their horses.
Standard inclusions
Painted and Sealed
All exposed timber in and around your completed arena painted and sealed with a Crib-X* product. There are many benefits using Crib-X:
- Extends the life of fencing.
- Reduces water absorption, allowing timber to breathe.
- Is UV stable and will stay on your fence, looking great.
- Contains a non-toxic inoculant (anti-cribbing agent) to discourage horses, and other animals, from cribbing and chewing**
- Crib-X is environmentally friendly – free from creosote, bitumen and solvents.
*If you would like a different finish applied, please inform us and we will happily arrange an alternate finish.
**Crib-X is animal, FEI and people safe.
Optional extras
Some of the options to consider for your new paddock shelter are:
Flooring
There is a multitude of available flooring options, including leaving the earth exposed to keep it as natural as possible or to build up the height of the floor, to apply Geohex flooring and road base for optimum drainage, (which allows for bedding product on the floor to ensure the ultimate comfort for horses).
Additional adjoining areas/rooms
There are endless options available to you regarding additional rooms and or services you may wish to add to your paddock shelter. Examples include wash-bays, tack rooms, feed rooms or general storage rooms.
Electrical and water services
If you require water and/or electrical services to be added to your paddock shelter, Comprehensive Equine will manage the entire process. We will complete all the applicable earthworks and then contract and oversee a licensed Plumber and/or Electrician to complete the specialised work.
